Default How do you run a Rockwell axle?

What custom driveshafts and transfer case do you need? Since the diffs upside down?

You need to get rocks out of a 74-77 GMC ironclad 3.5 ton multifuel. They will bolt in.

The diffs aren't upside down they are top loaders. You'd need a ton of lift to put them under an XJ. It has been done but takes a ton of work. You basically need to build a frame to attach the links to because the unitbody ain't gonna cut it. They are heavy and wide. Stock gearing is 6.72 IIRC and you can get 4.56s but they run 1500 per ring and pinion.

Build a frame 10 inch lift or bigger a v8 to have enough power to move it.Tires 44s would be the smallest probably.Steering would be full hydro which ain't cheap. The stock brakes are a drum on the pinion which sucks but they have upgrades.Take a look around http://www.ouversonusa.com/store.php

Stock brakes are just drums on the wheels and weigh a ton. Pinion brakes are the upgrade.
