Hood Vents
So today was pretty hot, I was out driving around, and forgot to turn on my electric fan that's setup manually. My temp gauge went all the way over, for a second I thought I had a full tank of gas.. I pulled over, kept the fan on and popped the hood, all was well.
It gave me the final push I needed to actually commit to getting some hood vents. I did a quick search and didn't really find what I was looking for. I like the look of the grill mesh that sits under the hood with some trim, opposed to vents off another vehicle that pop out or something. One of my questions is how do I add a drip pan or what's needed for when it rains.
I'm just looking for anyone who has done it and has tips or anything.
Cheers

I've got the mesh and no drip pans. We get plenty of rain here and for 2 years i've had zero issues. The reason: dielectric grease. Use it. It works and it keeps everything electrical happy. You can see mine in mymbuild thread (link is in my signature).

When I first read this I couldn't see No_rdplz had responded and I was going to direct you to him. I can vouch for how nice they look. I'll go a different route, but have debated doing the same as him.

Everything i put it on:
Plug wires (both ends)
Cap terminals

Lower lip of the cap (helps keep water out)
All throttle body sensors
ECU connections
All underhood fuses
Alternator connections and internal coils
Starter connections

Hey guys, so I installed mine over the weekend. I didn't put any dielectric on the connections yet, and have no drip pan. Will I run into issues with rain and car washes? Does a 92 have electrical connections like the newer (96+)? One of my vents appears to be right above my distributor cap, but those are sealed.. so.
Here are some pics.

I have my cutouts. Would it behoove me to use them in anyway? I'll go over the stuff you listed with my grease, but just as a secondary precaution? Like mount them somewhere where it doesn't really affect the heat, but directs water away.
Thanks
