Default Help picking the right xj

Hey guys I'm looking for a 97+ Cherokee. Here's what I found so far. I'm aware of the 2000-01 heads crack and that the 8.25 isn't in the newer but im not worried about it because I'll be swapping in a 8.8 anyway. Here's what I've found:
1.) http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/cto/2811613586.html

2.) http://kalamazoo.craigslist.org/cto/2828320062.html

3.) http://muskegon.craigslist.org/cto/2828326958.html this guy says it only has a little rust on the back hatch and its not very noticeable

4.) http://muskegon.craigslist.org/cto/2872846338.html

Should I wait to find a better deal? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

2 is the only one I would look at personally
I never trust a 'rebuilt' engine. ever

lol craigslist post 2 his funny because he took picture of a picture on computer. I'd check them all out, but it seems most of them might need some maintenance. 200k is where some problems can start to occur. Go with your gut.

Ok I think I might of found a better deal. Lower mileage. Here it is: http://grandrapids.craigslist.org/ctd/2874247514.html

And here's the link to the site on the ad: http://www.grandvalleyautoauction.ne...148128051.veh#

It looks like it needs a rear drivers flare, rear bumper and a interior cleaning

Also I can't tell by the pic but it kinda looks like the drivers rear side door is dented at the bottom. Or is that just the reflection of the snow? What do you think? Does it look like a good deal? My dad works at a jy so I could get parts pretty easily.

Need more info on the history. Only thing I don't like is the lack of information in the ads
Its worth a look. Is it going to be auctioned? You'll have to fill out your auction forms and pay $25 fee just to throw numbers

I'm not sure how that place works. Me and my dad will prolly go there tomorrow or Friday. If everything turns out good do you think that's a good deal or should I wait for a better?

Hard to say. Looks like they're letting it go whole sale. Which probably means it's in rough shape. I mean, they didn't even give the interior a good cleaning and prep for sale. Wires hanging out under the driver panels. The tires appear to be at 25% tread or less, and they probably wont touch those either. Also notice the stripping around the doors has a decent amount of rust. If the doors are this bad, the undercarriage could be worse. Rust is manageable, rot is not... Then there's engine and tranny performance.

What's your budget? I would personally keep shopping around.

then I would consider 1997 or 98 in better condition. especially if you're doing the 8.8 and building because you want the high pinion dana 30 up front

Thanks guys. You talked me out of that one which I think is a good thing after kjamesjr pointed out a few things. I'll be sure to post up more links if I find anymore.

2 and the last one. The others were freaking insane.
Also, the 8.25 is MORE common in 97-01's

And Auto Auctions are generally a bad Idea.

What do you guys think of this? It has pretty low mileage. It needs a bumper(he said someone tried jacking the jeep up from the bumper) and a fender(someone backed into it. No hood damage tho just the big dent in the fender) opinions??

Edit: Nvm I just called and he sold it
