Wife just had baby #2, so I'm tapped out on money until our taxes come in. In the meantime, I decided to do some things that are basically free. Time to paint the rear diff cover. I've got a shed full of spray paint cans.

Here's the 3 pretty simple designs I've come up with so far, but I'm open to suggestions:







Due to my username, I'm sort of inclined to option #2, but I'm not sure how cheesy it is?

 

I think the red star will look cool, not a big fan of the 3rd option, and the XJ looks nice but doesn't grab much attention.

 

What tail lights are those? I want em!

 

Don't care for 2 and what most people think when they see it. So #1, 3 or maybe just JEEP in block letters.

 

I'm not allowed to buy any more taillights. .. trees man... trees.

Every once in a while they'll go on sale for around 10%-15% off. I checked about once a week until they were a little under $80 + free shipping.

 

I don't think most people my age (29) think of a red star in that context. I picked the name years ago on another message board because a red giant star is the largest thing in the known universe (by a long, long, long way)

So I guess I picked the name to remind me how small I actually am.

But I do like the idea of using the Jeep logo instead. I think I may paint it black and do it in big block white letters. Thanks.

 

Haha i'm 25 and the red star makes me think of the Soviet Union/North Korea/China etc. Always has been the sign for communism. That or Rockstar energy drinks. Then again I was in the Army and am a history major. Your meaning is pretty cool. I don't think I've ever put that much thought into a diff cover.

a five point red star is the symbol of communism.

 

In many cultures the swastika is a symbol for the sun. I would not advise putting one on a vehicle either.
