I like the silverstars, I ran those before my conversion. but I gotta admit they are better in h4 form with an HD harness upgrade

Perhaps the harness upgrade supports more life out of the silverstars, I like the white lite but am disappointed on having to replace (burned out low beams) about every six months. They charge about $37 each hear with the tax. Have you found more longevity with a harness upgrade?

I've just done the harass upgrade 6 wks ago but I've been running the h4 conversions a few months. So far the SS have that nice crisp white light and no burn outs yet and I'm hoping they can last a long time

For the money you have to spend on replacing the silverstars twice a year, you could just invest in a really nice projector retrofit with HIDs. It's tons brighter, a lot whiter, and way more reliable.

Was gonna get hids but when I upgrade my aux lights I can see already I wont like the hid and halogen look. Just my 2 cents. Although if and when my SS burn out I'm gonna get some 80/100 hella bulbs

99% of new vehicles equipped with HID projector headlamps have a pair of halogen auxillary/fog lights.

You'll like the HIDs if you get 4300k or 5000k bulbs and stay away from the "smurf blue" ones. Seriously if you're going to spend that much money, you might as well just do the HIDs lol.

I agree with your logic. A few months I was goin crazy debating h4s or HIDs. I got the hella Ecodes and overspent on those so for a lil I'm gonna get my money's worth I might go hid in the future though with xjs there's always potential for upgrades
