Default green sticker question

i got a cherokee that i want to green sticker so that i can scrap it since it owes too much on registration needs too much work and i already got a replacement. i pretty much took everything ill need off it now i want to scrap it, but i need the title under my name. can i green sticker it and use that to recycle it? if so when i green sticker it do i need to pay all the money owed on the tags and stuff or just the price of the green sticker?

200 bucks? I only paid $81.00 for my 95 ZJ tags this year.

I'd cut the nose off and make a BBQ grill out of it. Then chop the little bugger up into pieces that are easy to scrap.

$200 A YEAR... OUCH. Here in Arkansas I pay @ $55 a year but I'm running a Boy Scouts of America plate on mine. It's @<$25 for the registration and $35 for the BSA plate (which all the $35 goes to the Boy Scouts here in Arkansas). I'm currently an Assistant Scoutmaster, by the way.

Ok I'm totally confused here. First off Not living in CA I have no clue what you are talking about with the green sticker. Second are you referring to the fees for tags or for personal property taxes due on it? The cost for tags would only be about $40 a year but the PP taxes are a completely different thing entirely (I'm referring to here in VA). Something that old the taxes would be most likely less than $100 per year. But if its junk and not on the road why would you be paying to have tags on it anyway? Is CA just that much different with vehicle registrations. Round here if I had an old parts vehicle, especially if I didn't have a title, the only person that would know the vehicle existed would be me.
