Default Got 2 questions.

Hey guys this is Ron from PA. I just joined up. Well heres my story. I just bought a 99 XJ with the 4.0 for 500 bucks. It has 215k on it and I got 2 questions. Well 1 the drivers window dont work. I can hear the motor running but no like grinding or ticking...
2 When i turn the front wheels at about 30%-100% or the turn i hear a like knocking sound.... but both front wheels have no play no shake 4x4 works good idk wth it is...

For the window issue, the motor may not be burnt out, but whatever connects the piece of glass to the motor might be. Also I know the seat motors have little plastic gears in them where the teeth from the gear can break and cause the motor to be ineffective. I'm not sure if the window motors have the same kind of plastic gear, but if they do, the plastic gear is probably broken.

As for the knocking, is it more of a single pop? Or is a continuous knock?

That sounds like the axle shaft u-joints. Make sure you are not driving in Part Time 4wd on the street. Only the 4wd Full Time can do this and you may or may not have that option.

If it is in 2wd then it sounds like the axle shaft u-joints are going out.

its in 2x4 so damn jeep lol but anyone know how much of a ***** a rms is a 4.0?
