If the undercarriage is as nice as the rest, you did well.
Even if it needs some work you did well.
That would be a $6000-8000 vehicle here in south central PA
Thanks for the welcome!
it has been sitting since 2014 with light driving.
New tires just to drive home. Exhaust is rusted through so I will put a new one on. Other than that it’s pretty dang solid. Not missing any chrome anywhere.
It drives well enough that I’m honestly not sure if I want to add a 2” lift and 31s or not.
You have some serious rust in the driver's door. That means you probably have it elsewhere. Remember:
Rust is never alone.
Rust never sleeps.
Pull the seats and carpets and see what you really have. Check behind the rear wheels, too. Pull the panels.
The rust on the driver door is from the bottom seal strip becoming unsettled and water has sat on top of it. The under carriage has absolute little to no rust so at this time I am not going to worry about pulling the carpet and seats although I understand the reasoning behind it.
In the engine compartment though, there is a small porcelain piece, driver side, that has two connectors going into it and 1 bolt straight through. It is broke in half and I have no idea yet what it goes to.
Currently the things that don't work are:
Power Mirrors
Rear window wiper
Cruise
Factory fog lights
Year: 1998 Classic (I'll get it running soon....) and 02 Grand
Model: Cherokee (XJ)
Engine: 4.0

Hmm. So you are 100% sure there has never been a leak in the windshield or the heater core, leaving rust working its way out from the inside? Must be nice.

Sounds like the fuel pump ballast. Check Cruiser's site for info.
Probably a better buy than mine, although mine had the lift I needed all done, so apples and grapes.
Congrats and welcome.
I am looking at a 2.5" all around super lift with add a leaf.
About one of the only suspension lifts I can find that is in stock. A little pricier than some but I want to slap some 31's on it so I will bite the bullet.
