Default giving the old girl a break

Well after being locked all the way around, No carpet or headliner, and no ac in my rig.
I've decided to retire her from the pavement and bought this yesterday

giving the old girl a break-forumrunner_20150115_093220.png

Gonna be a tow pig when needed and my DD. Brothers got a diesel so that's the main tow pig.
I love the truck and it's got 4x4 on the floor! Thought that was sweet that I don't have to worry about the electronics crapping out.
Taking the insurance off the jeep and putting it on the Silverado next week. Not gonna 're register or inspect it.
Now I can finally turn it into the trail rig I want it to be. Full cage and boat sides with a chop top coming soon!
Specs on the Chevy
07 1500 4.8l v8 4x4 auto 4spd 3.42 posi
119,xxx
Got it for 11,200$
Hopefully she treats me as well as the jeep did on the road(jeep never really broke down on me)

Nice truck man! sorry to hear you sold your jeep. Are you officially jeepless now? or do you have some other toys laying around.

The xj was my fist vehicle, bought and paid for by me at 17 years old. It means more to me than the new chevy does lol sad part is I wanna put a leveling kit on this truck but then I think, hmm that money could go towards steel for boat sides!

Haha well mine just got to that line and I said eff it I'm buying a truck.
Luckily for me I still live with my mom(I'm 19) so my job pays for my vehicles and that's about it. Trust me it's not gonna be easy. I'm going to school at uti 20 hrs a week and will quite possible be working 2 jobs starting next week

Nice! I think I should have bought a truck. I bought a 2010 Nissan Altima instead. I drive ~60 miles a day so the 31 MPG is nice though.

This is my grandpa's truck/ my donor tow rig and the DD.

Looks nice, I would have bought a small car for the mpg but because the jeep won't have insurance and everything I still need payload capacity.
I put 2,000 lbs of concrete in the bed of this truck for work two days ago.
It was sitting on the bump stops but overall it did great with it.
At least you have something you can use to drag the jeep around or haul if you need too Still.

I just used the truck to haul and pick up my axles and carry around 4 40's and other junk. Defiantly confirmed my need for one.

Welcome to the Chevy DD/Tow pig club! All sorts of fun possibilities open up when your rig doesn't have tags anymore lol 8) It actually sounds like we're in a very similar boat. I'm a few days shy of 19 as well, and also bought my ex-DD Cherokee as a first ride, then bought my truck. Both built up from stock.
