Try looking at your injectors, see if there's gas on them anywhere. I had a leaking o-ring in the rail that causes my number 3 to leak a little after driving it. Not a whole lot, but enough to be able to smell it.

Injectors should be the first place due to the obvious risk of fire, but another place you will want to check is your vapor canister, which you'll find above the rear axle towards the back seat area (underneath). There is a steel line that goes to this little black box that leads to your fuel tank/pump. They are common for rotting out on the later models.

I think I am just going to replace all my stock injectors with better quality. I've heard good things about neon injectors. Any other thoughts?

maybe find the source of the smell first before you go replacing parts may turn into a domino effect , I had a similar issue that appears to be coming from the fill tube, still haven't narrowed down the issue but then again it doesn't do it all the time either...

Could be the EVAP system (mainly the charcoal canister) The charcoal canister "catches" evaporated fuel fumes, then "recycles" them back into the engine while running.
