Here's a pic of my front driveline D30, just wanted to remove front driveline to replace the U joints. And a eliminate front driveline vibes after installing Zzone 3" lift w/ full leafs. 1.could I get A longer tail shaft for my rear driveline for the 242 TC? Just for now. I am going to do an SYE. Soon. Possibly do it myself. My budget is only thing holding me back this month!
1. What size Front and rear driveline's will I need.?

2. Is there something that could prevent me from driving without my front driveline? Jst want to be sure it's safe to drive like that temporary.

And like I stated before it's a 90% chance the vibes are from the rear. You either need a t case drop or a sye. "Longer tail shaft housing" would solve nothing and if such a thing existed would cause more vibes.

All XJs equipped with the 242 had no CAD, even before 91.

He's right you know... My '88 with the 242 had no CAD. Just stating a fact, nothing more.

Sure they can. You can run a 231 with no axle disconnect also.

LOL. Not trying to prove anyone wrong. Just stating the facts.

Pics are fine. So I was wrong.
Now when you say the dl spins do you mean full rotation or just like a little bit? A little bit is normal. Full rotation isn't.

I'm not following you" full rotation?" I shot a lame video of it spinning while moving from reverse to park in my driveway and it does seem to be spinning all the time in 2wd.

Can't post the video for some reason .

Since you don't have a disconnect axle yes it should be spinning.
