Try Summit Racing, they seem to have good prices. As far as new pipe goes, i would find a muffler shop. Couple years ago i had new dual pipes put on my Chevelle from the front back including adding the new mufflers and they only charged me like $150 or something like that for all the bending/welding/install. Just a thought.
I've been looking around for the same type of mufflers, and after seeing those videos i will be going with that 44 it sounds bad@ss!

Super 40 for me. Just deep and loud enough to really hear it, and enough to talk.
Things you should know about new mufflers is that you have to break them in. They really start to sound their best after a month or so.
Get your catback system from performancecurve...you wont find a better price.

I used to think that too until i talked to a guy at flowmaster a few years ago and he assured me that there is no break in period with mufflers that have no packing. He told me it was my own perception.
He did however state that when the mufflers goes through a few heat cycles the casing and baffles will expand and contract. but that is not concidered to be "breaking in"
You can call them and ask them yourself. also note that i was NOT reffering to the spr------ line up when i called them.
so maybe i shouldn't have assumed that they don't break in either. By this i mean i don't know if the spr 4-'s have sound material in them. If they don't than i stand by my original statement. If they do then you have my appologies.

EDIT--- I just looked on there site at the spr44 and i stand by my original statement. They do not have packing; hence they do not break in. All i can say dude, is call them.

I have to agree with the "no breaking in" thing. I've always ran Flows on my rides and have never seen any difference in tone after a few months. Not to say anyone is wrong/right, just stating I've never noticed any difference between when they are first installed and a few months later.

Thats fine man.. you can still belive it, but it doesn't make it true. I've had flows on everthing from an rx7,mustang(S) and a vette.

thanks for the tech info and stuff. I do notice a better sound once I've been driving for awhile (once the exhaust is nice and hot) I assume that's what you mean by the expand and contract.
Either way Flowmaster has my vote as the way to go whichever one someone chooses

well said. i just wanted you to be correctly informed...haha.
I have a full set-up with stock header, the walker down tube w/out the pre-cat...aka pre-silencer.
along with a highflow cat and performance curve c/b with a spr 44.
With the absence of the silencer; when she's warmed up alows you to REALLY hear the lope of the stock cam. I love this set-up. the onlything that would compare or surpass this deep tone is a spintech 7k or9k.imo.
enjoy the spr flow.

So I'm getting ready to buy one for myself... would you guys recomend buying the cat back system or just the muffler and having a shop bend up the rest? Also where's the best place to buy just the muffler?

Or just go for the super 10 "Flowmaster’s new Super 10 series mufflers are so aggressive that we can’t even recommend them for use on street driven vehicles. "
Whatever you get, the most important thing to remember is to make a video of it for youtube. Make sure you don't have anyone helping, then get youself in the shot as you lay the camera on the ground, then take what seems like forever to get in and turn the engine on. Then when you're done revving it, make sure you walk back and look directly into the lens as you reach down to turn off the camera. I'm pretty sure that's a rule.

well from videos, the spr 10 sounded tinny to me on the 4.0.
real raspy at higer rpms. but i have never heard them inperson. my 2cents on that.
I would buy the cat back from performance curve. its allready mandrel bent. you can have your choice from spr 40 or 44 or even magnaflows.
most exhaust shops don't have mandrel benders. they are super expensive. but if you can find one around you with one, then use them.
i have the perf.curve c/b with spr 44 and i love it. deep and throaty with my highflow cat and wlkr dwn pipe.

I am looking to buy the super 44 for my 99 XJ.. I found on performance curve that they have a package that comes with the muffler and tail pipe since i need to replace both. Would i need to purchase anything else? Its size 2.5' on the site below.
