Your friends thought that was too deep? You guys need some better places to get dirty. Bit of advise - if you see a mud puddle/hole/pit/whatever, take a stick and try to touch the bottom of the puddle/hole/etc with it. If you hit the bottom, you'll know how deep it is. If you don't hit the bottom, you won't know. Either way, make sure someone can pull you out and go for it.
But, the main point of it all is to be legal, be safe, get her dirty, and most importantly, have fun. If you did that, job well done sir! As for more stuff in Ohio, you're pretty much in the same boat I'm in here in Virginia Beach, meaning you gotta drive a little to find something. There's a pretty good spot near Wellsville called "the pits" by the locals. It's about an hour drive from you. Head down 11 to East Liverpool then go southwest on 7 to get to Wellsville. Someone there should be able to tell you how to get to "the pits".

Ya they thought it was too deep, went through something even deeper today in the same area my friend came back with us in his XJ and showed me the pit it was pretty big, just over my tires deep.
My friend with the XJ was actually scared to go through it so I went first and cruised through without a problem, then my friend with the ranger went through, and then finally the XJ.
We always try the stick test too lol.
I'm hoping to take a trip to wellsville one day. Might be heading up to a place called Yankee lake this friday, every friday during the summer they have a truck night. I'm hoping to make a big trip to Haspin next year with a ton of people
