THIS. theres a guy in the next city over from me who buys these things up in bulk. they're retired national forest service jeeps in perfect condition with low miles (80k-140k usually). but they're never 5 speed..

I hope it was lifted correctly and not half a$$ed. At 2200 bucks you bought a lift and tires that just happens to have an XJ sitting on top.

I always tell anyone who's looking for a cherokee to buy a stock one. The last thing you want is someone else's headache. ALOT of xj can be had for 2500 bucks. You just need to keep looking. They are all over the place.
It's just hard to find one that's unmolested and somewhat maintained.

2200 is a good deal. So make sure there isn't a reason it's that cheap. After dealing with so many idiots on craigslist I don't trust a single one. I've been ripped off myself. Don't let it happen to you. It's not fun. Lol

Looks like it's had its fair share of abuse. Make sure you do a thorough check on it. Make sure the unibody is straight and doesn't have any cracks, amongst other things.

When my last XJ got totaled, it took me over three months to find another one (in my price range). I had to drive almost 220 miles (one way) to look at it. The guy wanted $2,200 (I think) for it and I brought it home for $1,500. I searched CL and Ebay several times a day and my local and state-wide classifieds. It took a while but I found one.
