Default Few rust spots need painting over

96 Cherokee Classic . I've got a few places here and there that had rust so I sanded them down as best I could got rid of most of the rust. Is there some kind of paint that I can use thatll weather proof it and guard it from future rusting

Note: would like the touch up not to be an obvious paint over

I'm just planning to use black primer on our "new" jeep.

I used grey primer on the hood of my old blue Chevy pickup and it actually looks pretty good - like I intended a dull finish to reduce glare.

Take pictures will be best,With rust you use por15 or remove all the rust and then paint it.Normal paint over rust will flake off in time because the rust will keep growing under it.

X2 on the POR15. I have their starter kit that I'm going to use on some rust. I've read all good reviews about their product

There is a paint code on the driver door sticker. Touch up pens are $8. Two ounces is $14.

Use a 'rust converter' on the bare metal. POR15 is one brand, there are others. It kills the rust and you can paint over it.

Need photos because no one knows where or how bad the rust is and if not properly taken care of will become "Very Bad Spots".

Your the one who asked for help.

if there is good metal still there there is a chemical we put on rust to stop it can't remember the name but I'll get it at work tomorrow then put a sealer primer on and if needed a high build primer the high build will orange peel you'll have to sand it with a fine paper then your ready for top coat and clear coat or whatever you want to put on it. if you're redoing the whole body I suggest a single stage urethane unless your looking for a show quality paint job
