Default Remote Start Question

Hey guys, I just got a jeep not too long ago (98 Cherokee Classic). It has a remote start on it, which works well. The remote start fob also has a key to lock and unlock the doors. When you press the button the lights on the vehicle will flash - so the vehicle is registering something, but the jeep won't lock, or unlock. Any ideas, why?

Either the lock feature of the alarm was never wired up, or, you may have a bad passenger side window/lock switch. The passenger side switch is the one that actually houses the power lock relays, and they are known to fail. Try swapping one out form a junk yard, or you can buy a new one from www.rockauto.com

Without knowing brand/model of you alarm, or knowing which features of it were wired up, that's as much advice as I can give you.

That is Avital and you will find help at your local car audio install shop. Not a factory option.

There isn't any local audio shop (seriously) I live in the middle of nowhere... any idea where I could start looking (google or something) to try and figure this out?
