1.5 .120 will be plenty for a typical roll over that happens at low speed like when your wheeling.
i used 1.75 inch .120 wall mild steel and it hasnt bent at all. your unibody and how you build it should be the weak point in the cage.
theres a lot of info on pirate 4x4 i know i made a thread on there explaining what differences the thickness and diamaters of tube do as well as the type of material ect ill try and find it
