So I have heard there is an app on the droid market made to help you design exo cage. Ive spent the whole entire afternoon trying to find the application but to no avail. Does anybody know of a way a program a computer program that you can use to design an exo cage? I really wanna build an exo cage but I can't because I don't know where start my design. And I definitely don't want to fabricate and design as I go.

Google sketchup? http://sketchup.google.com/

Also I think openoffice includes a CAD program.

I like autoCAD for its drafting purposes
but its expensive. find something else if youre just looking for a program to play around with
it takes awhile to teach yourself too

Well I think that I'm actually searching for ways to design an exo that someone has used personally. Other than flying by the seat of their pants. Anybody got any good direction?

Read the rules. I started a topic about fabricating an exo cage. Get a life and stop trying to feel important.

For everyone else.....
Still waiting on some good ideas!

look at other peoples cages, get an idea of what you want in your head and basically design it in your head or paper whatever you want to put it on then go for it. you dont need a computer to do a cage we arent building a class 1 car out of chromoly to go 130 mph thru the desert lol.

i dont know of one person who has or has not used a computer that hasnt changed something part way thru the build.

Hey man not trying to be mean but here is a quote from the mods...

"Fabrication is reserved for completed and under going projects, not for questions and general chat about fabrication.

This is NOT the location for questions about what you want to do, they belong in cherokee chat. This is NOT the location for trimming fenders, rattle canning your xj, lift questions, installing new carpet or anything small like this. This is for REAL fab work that you are currently doing or have done and how you did it. AKA, Exocages, Frame stiffeners, Bumpers, DIY beadlocks, etc. This is where the big boys play."

Yeah? Big boys huh? well you're a big boy douche canoe....... how about you pull the upidee stick out you hole and just say something like where you read the rules for Fab. That's the "big boy" way of doing things. At least someone who actually represents what the jeeping community is.
But thanks for the heads up "big boy" lol
