I think it would depend on the type of locking lug.

It also depends on the style of wheel and whether or not the lug nut is tightly shrouded but I havent seen a locking lug nut that couldnt be removed very easily

That video is incredibly stupid. All 20 of my lug nuts (24 on my DD) are locks. So he would have to carry 20 of the same sized socket to steal mine. Which car thief is going to make all that racket hammering at lug nuts, plus the time to remove all 4 wheels? This type of theft is like grab & run - quick in, quick out.

Why is it people always like to brag about crap on the internet? Some of you guys who like to say they are useless - does it make you feel manly? Like the e-macho-men who do 100-mile-per-hour U-turns with no front sway bar. There's no arguing that wheel locks have their uses. Not everyone knows how to remove other people's lug nuts. Helping those prone to stealing by posting a video is just plain dumb.

I will say stay away from cheap ones. My jeep came with a cheep set, and I stupidly replaced them with another cheap set. After being put on and taken off 2-3 times they're ruined.

They make sockets that are big (mine is about 1" wide) with hundreds of little pins in them that go straight back--I think they're called gator grip or something like that--and you can just slide them on anything that spins, whether it's perfectly round or with some weird shape and start to twist, the pins will bite into it twist whatever it is off, takes no longer than using a normal socket on a lug.

It always crack me up when I rag on someone & they come back with a completely unexpected reply. Even when they tell me to get over it. Made me LOL.

It's fun to stoke the fires on da intrawebz

idk if it was just my bad luck but everything i ever owned with locking lugs was a nightmare, when i needed to change my tire (on the side of the road of course)they cracked in half.and it is no fun to get those things off when they strip or crack.as a matter of fact i think i would rather have my wheels stolen...
