Ever sleep under your Cherokee?
I really want to know if it possible to someway sling a hammock, axel to axel, under my lifted 93 xj. It's on 33" tires. This would awesome for camping! Has anyone done this?

I would just find 2 trees or get a cot. Sleeping under any jeep sounds like a terrible time, unless a shower of dirt puts you to sleep.

In theory you thought of part of it. The concept of a hammock. But like others said, first you have to consider the issue of dirt falling, second, iirc the axles arent further enough apart. Hammocks do have a height to distant ratio. I dont even remember what mine is in my backyard, its def further than my axles, plus the height is 3ft off the ground and it still dips low. So sorry, probably wouldn't work very well

I spent a day underneath mine recently doing the SYE and driveshaft. I've never been under there since. I have slept inside mine camping however with another person. We are both short but even still, we had to go diagonally and head-to-feet to make it comfortable.

Mine leaks too much oil and drops too Much mud and dirt. Even after I wash my under carriage with a pressure washer. There's still mud falling everywhere. I've slept in my jeep but as stated, you have to sleep diagonally. Get a roof tent and sleep in it

Don't know if this counts but I nodded off for a few hours under mine while burning the midnight oil putting on a new exhaust. Right comfy it was.

You could probably sling a hammock between axles if you really wanted to, thing is you'd need about a 12" lift to get yourself to clear the transmission crossmember. And of course if you stretched your arms you'd have rust and dirt everywhere.
That's downright fancy. I've napped under mine... 12:30 AM picking up needle bearings from a U joint
