Engine Stops after Running for about 3 minutes

Engine Stops after Running for about 3 minutes
I was driving on the freeway the engine stalled. The engine starts on dime but stops after about 3 minutes. I changed the fuel filter and the fuel pump ballast resistor. The ballast resistor get hots and the engine turns off. Not sure if I should replace the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator. Something is making the car stop running. When I start it and put it in drive, it hesitates moving forward and then cuts off. Not sure what to do next. Please help!
