My jeep runs great and is mechanically sound except for a few small fixes.the problem is it needs a paint job bad.its black and has no clear on it all.so I seethis product called wipe new by rustoleum.the guys rubbing on his paint making it shine.so I buy some then decide to read reviews.people say don't put it on paint.WTH.what can I shine this baby up with without painting it? Anybody here tried wipe new?

It won't work. Once the clear is gone you need a paint job or just live with it. I have a couple of vehicles with failed clearcoat, if someone points out how shabby they look I just say they're rat rods.

ill paint it later down the road. just wanted ideas to make it shine once in awhile.I read somewhere that wd40 wiped on a car would really shine . I just don't want to mess it up where it cant even be painted someday. ive always heard never to put silicon based products on car paint or it would be there forever, idk. ill just give it a good hand wash .love my xj.

People complain about America's protections over its natural resources.
Alot of the time they are there for a damn good reason, but sometimes they are silly and make little sense.
Still, it's better than what China has done to it's natural resources. If plasti-dip is illegal in gallons in your state, there is not much you can do. I would suggest not breaking the law by "obtaining" gallons of plasti-dip
My suggestion is to get a cheap HVLP spray setup and paint it in Coyote Desert Tan
Matte paint is much easier to spray at home than gloss, and you could probably buy a set-up for very cheap. Paint someone's car on Craigslist when you're done and you would recoop most of the cost, but it does take a bit of practice to get it right
