Default Effects of Water?

I finally threw caution to the wind and hit the deepest puddles I could find with all the rain we've been getting. I hit one that I thought was 6-8" and ended up with water coming over my rockers at one point. About halfway through the ~150' pool, I hit a wall (not literally) and the Jeep slowed down drastically. Felt like it was bogging hard, and I only hit about 5-7mph the rest of the way through (didn't give it too much gas cause it didn't feel right, and I didn't wanna dig in). I was worried at first, but it's been driving fine since except for a noise I can't really describe coming from somewhere behind the driver seat, underneath. Anything I should check or be worried about? I was thinking water in the muffler, but I keep reading that there's enough backpressure to prevent this. Would the sudden slow-down allow it, or does anyone have other ideas? For the record, I may just be paranoid

You might have gotten water in the diffs.

Check your tranny dip stick, the tranny has a vent on the upper side, little plastic wobbly cap covers it. Diffs are vent lined up into the frame rails, if the water is at the rockers for some time (150 ft) the rails can also fill with water and find it's way to the diffs. Look for milky appearance in any of your fluids can idicate water contaminate.
