I have a HP D30 I want to truss, but I don't want to have to do a lot of fabbing or spend a lot of money. Main purpose, I take my jeep to the sand dunes a lot, so it takes a lot of abuse. I like the idea of under the axle trusses, i dont ever wheel rocks, and ive never had a problem with anything hanging low. If you have pictures or ideas let me know. Thanks!

It seems like 20 years ago everybody had an under axle truss mounted on their rig, I guess the trend kind of died.

For the sand, I'd build a truss from C to C on the bottom and plate the whole thing.
If you're going to do it you might as well do it right.
I'd do it similar to this but with heavier stuff.

I'd also truss the C's.

a plate welded to the top won't do much.
Ive only done top of the axle trusses because ground clearance is a concern for me. but for the sand an under the axle truss is said to be better.
Heres what I did for my 14 bolt. Probably quite overkill for what you are looking to do.
Started out with some 3/8" thick bar for the framework (3" wide)

and filled it all in with some 3/16" plate

If I were to build a truss like what you are looking for I would do something similar to what lowrange posted.

Yeah I Have the C's Gusseted already, but I like that style. I have jumped my jeep before with another axle and bent it up pretty bad, So I want to make this one last!
