Default Drive shaft and sye queation

Have done some research on this but not 100 percent sure yet. Right now I have a 3" lift and eventually want to go to a 4.5" sometime next year. My question is if I decided to do the sye and extended shaft now would the same drive shaft for the 3" lift be fine for the 4.5" lift

Thanks

Yea. Just get a front ds out of a Cherokee and put it in the rear works great with the sye

you will be fine. No need for an s.y.e. on 4.5" of lift. Hel, I don't have one, and never had any issues.

This is simply bad advice no matter how you look at it.

Actual ride height will vary from one manufacturer to the next so a blanket statemnt such as yours make no sense at all. Tire size also comes into play as well.

My first lift (RE 3.5") netted closer to 4.5" before settling at just under 4" and it absolutely required an SYE.

I know the front shaft will be fine but the rear shaft after swap it out just making sure it will work for the 3" to 4.5"

I was referring to using a front driveshaft in the rear along with an SYE.

If you use this option you will not need to go to a longer shaft when changing from a 3" to a 4.5" lift.

Make sense?

yeah it does if i get the front shaft out of an awd cherokee it will work with an sye for my 3" lift now and also when i eventually decide to go to a 4.5" no problem how ever if i decided to go with an sye and extended shaft now id still have to get a long shaft when i go to 4.5" of lift id still have to get another longer drive shaft for the rear anyways eventhough i would have gotten one to fit the 3" it wouldnt work for the 4.5"

It would work for the 4.5 I run a stock front drive shaft in the rear of my jeep with 8.5 inches of lift( it does vibrate at highway speeds but mine not a daily driver) at 4.5 you should be good

As frankZ said very bad advise.
I'm at 3.5" and NEED a CV Driveshaft, . I have a TC drop now and cannot get rid of the vibes no matter what angle I set the rear pinion at. The purpose of a SYE is to get rid of the slipyoke, bad design for offroad use and to allow you to properly run a CV driveshaft, The CV shaft is what really cures the vibes.

Well, I guess just in my case and all my friends cases, that is what we came up with. My bad.

Just put it together, and like stated before, if you have bad vibes and such, do the sye. Good luck to ya man.
