the do's and don'ts of xj's?
alright i'm a bit new to xj's and jeeps in general. i would like to know what you guys would recomend for the best do's and don'ts for suspension and fab tech?
i have a pretty good handle on all the nuts and bolts and how it all works, and goes together, i am just looking for some words from the "wise" whom have run the gauntlet and experienced all the goods and the bads, like they say the more you know the better off you are

Well it depends what do you plan on doing with your XJ.
Is it going to be a daily driver or a weekend trail warrior that's going to be on a trailer?

my plans are for a DD that is trail worthy on the weekends, i don't have a long commute and don't mind a small drop in fuel millage. not looking for a trail monster tho lol
definitely am expecting to spend spend spend. yet i do posses good fabrication and mechanical skills, so i'll be able to save in those departments. usually am pretty frugal so sourcing material is fairly easy
i already have a winch bumper mostly finished and all my material is cut and ready for the sliders.
don't have an other half at the moment so don't have to worry about that one

Your decision in the end. All personal preference. Sompeople would think its dumb but I have a 2000 and the drivers side mirror was missing so I put a 93 mirror on so ones square and ones round but its a trail rig and its not going into dub magazine. Haha

Do:
...know why you're modding it before you do anything
...make a build plan
...budget for that plan
...stick to the plan
...focus on recovery first
...spend too much time on CF
Don't:
...mod stuff "just because"
...be a poser

1. Get some 703 injectors.
2. Save up and do it right the first time.
3. Go with a little higher lift then what you think you want
4. Go with a little bigger gear than what you think you want
5. Don't use blocks or spacers
Just my pennies.
