I live in the gilbert/mesa area in Arizona. Every time i see an xj i honk and wave at em and smile they think im a weirdo. I always thought it was a "jeep thing" but i guess not does the wave only apply to wrangler owners? Do Cherokee owners wave at each other too? I dont feel the newer jeeps deserve "the wave" Theres been a couple times where i yelled "jeep brothaaaa!!!!" At a cherokee and the guy just smiled and honked back and waved it felt so good. i like the brotherhood. What other vehicles share comradery? Is there any xj clubs in Az?

I used to wave at all Cherokees and wranglers but not I'm to the point now where I only wave at members of my club. Never heard of anyone honking every time they see a jeep though haha

If it looks modded, yes. Patriots and 2014 Grand Cherokees driven by grad students and moms - no.

If I see one coming down the road, I make a series of quick judgments to determine if the driver is actually a "Jeep" person and would acknowledge the wave. Most of the time, it's old women and men, or people who just aren't jeep people and the jeep is all stock, etc. I only wave to modded Cherokees.

X2, I usually do the same. As for JK's I usually wait for them to wave to me before I give the wave. GC's and patriots/ liberties typically don't even give them a second look unless they're lifted.

you walking tall sob.

I wave to all jeeps. idgaf. I had some college girl actually chase me down to give me a thumbs up and wave. funny thing is she had a jeep almost identical to mine, just less badass of course.

If other Jeeps wave to me, I will return the wave...but in my experience, they just won't wave back or are oblivious...which means then I would feel like an ***.

I've given waves across a huge freeway and got them back haha. It's all about how much attention your jeep draws. I have a lightbar and always get waves with it on, but when I take it off there's not much that makes my jeep stand out when it's coming down the road.

Either way, I always wave at other modded Cherokees, GC's, and wranglers. Also I sometimes catch myself waving at really old men driving beautiful stock Cherokees haha

I was driving on the car side of the turnpike. Its three lanes driving south, a metal divider, then three truck/car lanEs going south.

I was on the car side and a lift and modded jk driving on the truck side gave a honk, wave and thumbs up to me. This was when my jeep was painted mud

Everybody here waves to each other no matter what you drive. But then again we're all related.
