Default DO you think this is too much?

I was in the army for awhile and I loved the color of the old jeeps so I painted mine like it.

What do you guys think?

Also What should I change if I do decide to? and what is the best way to paint chrome cause the black is chipping. I also added hood vents.

If you have a sand blaster take the chrome off and give it a good blast, that will give the paint something to hold on to.

Any other Ideas than a sand blaster?

And thank you everyone.

And yes they regular house vents and here in nevada it has been snowing and stuff and the jeep has been great and keeping cool.

Looks great man! The only suggestion I would add would be a star on each of the front doors, and some kind of serial number on the front or rear fender. Like "USCDN896547-XJ" or something (that number has no significance but it looked like something you'd see on those old Jeeps, lol)

I think it is great. I would look at some old Jeep photos and maybe try to mimick some of the smaller markings as well, could be fun.

Looks great! The only suggestion that I would make is to use a military grade olive drab paint instead. I'm not sure where to get it but when we repainted my Unimog, my dad purchased THAT paint and he explained to me it was almost like colored epoxy, in the sense that it is much more durable than just your rattle can stuff...

Love that bumper! Make it yourself?

to paint chrome scuff it lightly with a scuff pad then use duplicolor adhesion promoter followed by a couple thin coats of primer, then a coat of color and clear. the secret is the adhesion promoter, lay a single medium wet coat and let dry 10-15 min then lay your primer down in two medium wet coats. doesnt come in spray cans though so need a gun...

^ that's good advice. I've noticed a lot too that people sometimes get impatient, not that you are one of these people, and try to "put the color down". From my experience, and teachings, I was always told to spray a tack coat, before attempting your actual color coats.
