I have long heard of the mythical "Jeep Wave" from owners in web forums, for some years now. My question to you all is: do you initiate Jeep Waves? Have you gotten a few whilst driving around? I have never gotten one yet so mostly I wanted to make sure "Jeep Waves" are actually real.
So what say you?

I used to wave to every cherokee, but now only modded XJS. (Due to only old people around here drive XJs). I have never got one myself, but I do waving.
I wave, but have yet to have one returned. If I were a less secure man I might feel like an idiot.
I think mostly people around here have no idea what they're driving and probably wonder why that retard is waving... they're like "¿Sabe usted que el hombre?"... "Eh, no".
I'll keep trying, though.

I always waved when I was stock and almost never got a return wave. Ever. Once the lift went on I got waves left and right, even from the lifted Dodge Ram crowd (which is notoriously snooty in my area). I can't say I like the idea of stockers being excluded, but it's hard to tell who's a part of the Jeep world and who isn't when they drive a wholly unmodified Jeep.

I wave at every XJ, most wrongler's and a very few of the built GC's. Have been for the last year-and-a-half since I got my first XJ. Only ever had it returned once.

I only wave at the lifted JK's and XJ's around me anymore. Most get returned some don't. I find the stock JK's are hit or miss and more often than not it's someone who bought the image. I used to care but now I just chuckle about how much they spent on their jeep.

Only time I wave or ever have someone wave at me first is when I'm heading up or down the hill to the mountains. There's a pretty big 4x4 community here so you see a lot of them on road coming up and down the hill. It's not always Jeepers that wave either.
I drive a stocker and Ive gotten a couple uninitiated waves, one from another stocker near my house and one from a dude who drove a murdered out xj when I drove past their camp site on the fourth of July. I get wave backs maybe 40% of the time, almost exclusively from lifted xjs. I dont wave to every stocker I see, only if they have stickers and crap. It is amazing to me the number of Cherokees floating around, driven by people who could care less one way or the other. They are pretty cheap, but they arent exactly cheap to gas up or keep runnin.

the wave seems to be more prominate with wrangler owners in my area, when I had a wrangler I got the wave all the time, even more once it was modified. With my Cherokee, I never got em back till it was modified, now that its lifted and all that its about 50%. If I am in an area near ORV park or something like that you almost get tired of waving, but day to day its about 50%. I have had other cherokee owners stop and ask me questions and shoot the **** for a little before at a store or something, and that is always nice

The jeep wave is overrated, i only xj wave. Haha, i get waves all the time when i drive around and i only wave to lifted xjs. As long as my windows will roll down fast enough.
