You guys are hard on tires.
I got bit at the age of 5 in 1955 by a 1942 GPW straight off the air force base. A friend of the family had been a Major and acquired it at the end of WWII. Had everything on it accept the 30 cal gun. We took it camping once a year. When I was 15 and got my permit, I badgered my mother, bless her heart, to ride with me on the street to practice my driving skills in it. We drove it on the street just far enough to get off it. We were living at Lake Tahoe at the time. I met up with some local guys in lifted CJs with wide 32s who invited me along on their outing. We got with some other clubs and went from Reno to Virginia City on back roads. No big deal. They asked me if I wanted to stick with them and I said sure, so we went from Virginia city to Carson City with no road, just straight over the mountains. The guys were patient with me, had trouble keeping up with skinny tires and 50 squirrels under the hood, but I made it anyhow. Been doing it ever since. Now the XJ is attractive because I am a wuss and like the AC.
The wife makes fun of how much time I spend on my XJ, but giver one of her own and it is a different story.

Not really, just indecisive and trial and error. 225s on it when I bought it. I had some 235 A/Ts not being used so put them on. Then came 30" M/Ts, lifted it/trimmed it and tried some 33s. They sucked with stock gears so I went down to 31s. I had interest in my 31s, sold them and bought 32s. I was happy with that combo until I came into a financial mess, so I traded the 32s for some 31s and cash. Through it all I have learned a lot.

I got bit when I was 3 yrs old. We lived in Michigan and my uncle had an 88 cherokee. It was lifted 2" with 31". It was snowing really badly and he asked if I wanted to go have fun in the jeep... He said I threw my coat on and jumoed in the jeep. He pulled 4 people out of ditches that day and that is when I got bitten
Now me and my wife have cherokee's. An 89 cherokee limited, and my wife's 95 Grand cherokee Limted. I can't wait for winter were going up to Michigan for a couple of weeks and were towing my jeep up there

Well where to begin...
...I've been selling/financing JEEPs at a Chrysler store for 15 years or so. I've been wheeling for way longer than that. Have built up several pretty cool JEEPs over those years.... I spend spare time in the garage working on my pair (XJ,WJ)...the XJ has followed the function over sexy with no undented panels, very little interior and prob a few hundred pounds of tools & spare parts on board at any one time...co-founded the only JEEP Club on the island...researching parts, pieces and online -trolling tech section on JEEP boards...I have an ongoing list of to-dos on my XJ and well the last four digits of my telephone number end in 5337 (JEEP)...itch huh? Full blown rash here!
