Do you use yours as an everyday vehicle? I have to drive on the highway every day to get to work and have a 2 yr old .if I was just wheeling I would run like that.but better safe then sorry especially with my son in it.

I kinda agree, I did just totally rebuild my HP D30 from top to bottom & inside out & had terrible steering before on my LP D30. Now with all new steering, bushings, ball joints, etc... I don't run one anymore. Steering is great & no bump steer or other issues. I'll probably get one installed before long, just gives some people piece of mind.

yes, its my daily for the most part. you could always try it with the stabilizer off and see how it feels. I don't run one due to my 1ton steering, & didn't want to buy the extra bracket for the stabilizer cause down the road id like to go otk.

I agree that when properly set up a stabilizer is not needed. A double is a total waste of time on an XJ though. However, I do have one (even with the 1-ton set up) just because it is my DD and not having those little wiggles that are simply a reality due to imperfect roads is nice.

Steering stabilizers are just a shock absorber. They dampen shock to the system whether it's the suspension system or steering system. Neither are a fix for a component/components problem.

As far as sway bars go there is probably a use for the rear one with certain vehicles under certain circumstances. I've removed them both on my XJ and my wife's Blazer because of the rural roads we travel. Just makes for a better ride. The front one I removed only on mine for better suspension travel for where I drive at times. It's disconnected most of the time BUT I've got a suspension that's in good shape and I've got high pressure monotube shocks. No problems at any legal speed. But the sway bar is always connected when I tow. First time I ever towed with it disconnected before I was pulling a dual axle u-haul trailer loaded to the hilt at one point it was almost abandon ship.
