Do I fix or do I scrap?
Hey,
So, I am a student on a fixed budget, and my Cherokee was just diagnosed with having a cracked transfer case and a broken u joint on the driveshaft. It is a 1996 Cherokee with plenty of mods like 7 in lift, light bar, 35 tires, etc. It is going to be around a $3k fix and I don't know if its worth it. I bought the car for 4k last year, and I think I could get more for it now, but I don't know if its worth a 3k fix. I don't know cars as well as I would like to, so I don't know if I should fix it or not. Can anyone give me any pointers?

Fix it. But dont pay anybody 3k to do it.
assuming the driveshaft ear is broken and not the u joint(which is replacable) get a used driveshaft for probably $100 or less. The u joints are way cheaper to replace if the driveshaft is okay.
Get a used transfer case for probably under $500 bucks( depending on demand in your area - just a rough price)
Install the parts in an afternoon with a few buddies or at least one person to help you lift and help with staying safe

If a shop has quoted you $3k for that, find a new shop.
That's not a tough job at all.
