Default Fix: turn signals don't cancel.

Not sure if this has been covered on here before or not but here's what I did.

My turn signals did not cancel when I turned right. I'm not going to go into detail on what I did here cause there pictures speak fit themselves....and if you don't know what is going on here it's probly not a bad idea that you try and fix it yourself since this involves modifying the airbag system.

So far this is working flawlessly.

that is normal for alot cars, the tab beaking off. on bmws, most people break theirs off when they put on their steering wheel. usually you have to turn the signal to the blink position to move the tab out of hte way when you install the steering wheel or the tab gets broken off

thats cool and probable explaines why I can get it to turn off with a jerk to the left far enough, I wish I knew this when I first lifted bc I bet it happened when the guy aligned my steering wheel and didnt notice/say anything

he shouldn't have pulled your steering wheel to align it. you adjust the bar from the gearbox to the axle to adjust the steering wheel.

if you pull the cherokee wheel off, it will only go back on that same spot it come off. its not splined like a lot of cars where you can just pop the wheel off and then move it over a few splines. i tried that way is how i know

the tabs break cause they are plastic and they get brittle. the tab is on the back of the clockspring behind thee wheel so even pulling the wheel and reinstalling it won't hurt it. a new clockspring is $117 my cost, i think they list for almost $200. seeing as that was all that was wrong with mine i just pulled it out and started thinking how i could fix the problem. works great so far. if the left one breaks as well i do the same thing again but i'm sure i'll get a broken wire in the clockspring before that happens.

My blinkers do not cancel either. I put in a new switch, but that did not correct the problem. What actually controls the cancellation of the blinkers when you turn? I was told it was not the clock spring

You can see in the pictures the tabs on the clockspring. They contact the switch and cancel the the turn signal while turning the wheel.
