do i have a C 8.25 or D 35? it looks to me like a c 8.25

Hope I am not hi jacking the thread. After seeing the post I looked and have the same. Is this a desirable rear end to have?

Yes, its stronger than the d35.

there are 2 versions of the 8.25, pre 97 only have 27 splines while the 97 and later axles have 29 splines which are stronger, but both are stronger than the d35

ok thank you im gonna have to prove the person who told me that my rear axle was a d35 wrong! And my jeep is a 1998. so is this the 29 spline like you said?

that is a D35, Chrysler 8.25's are flat along the bottom of the pumpkin

The give away for the Chryco 8.25 from the D-30 is that the Chryco 8.25 has a lip on the bottom of the Differential.
