Well, I missed the old green 96 so much that I've been scouring the ads ever since she was sold.
this time it's a '97 with an LPG conversion so I'll be paying much less for fuel than last time round.
She's not perfect, there's a definite problem with the vacuum system because you can only get air to the defrost vents and the cruise doesn't work, but she's solid underneath and start, runs, stops, just fine. Heads up for lots of aircon questions in the technical forums
WOOHOOOOOO!!!

Nice! Will u be able to elaborate on the LPG conversion? And post pictures?
Try checking the vacuum ball under the bumper and all vacuum lines for any leaks. It's pretty much basic problem that can be easily solved.
Congrats on the purchase

LPG is really common in places like Europe and Aus where gas prices are 4 times as high as the usa.If you looking for a kit try http://www.gotpropane.com/p4.html#1%20and%202%20barrel

Can do, it's a lot more common in the UK because quite a few places stock LPG now. A wild guess would be about 1/4 of all petrol stations sell it, and of course they're all a lot closer together over here.
I'm not sure what kit is on there exactly but it is multipoint (one LPG injector per cylinder) so it should give the same performance on LPG/Gas as Petrol/Gas
I'll post up pics when I get them.
The vacuum ball will be getting a thorough prod at the weekend, sooner if I can get home on time.....thanks for the info.
These Guys are pretty much the go-to resource for LPG in the UK, you can get a decent idea of the state of the technology on their site.

In the usa filling stations are still kinda limited and only open in the day time. But the kit i linked you can get a bbq tank adapter if you run out at the wrong time.I have seen a few trail buggies here running propane using forklift tanks on the back.
That would be awesome, I wonder if its cheaper per tankful than using gasoline.

I am a welder at a local machine shop, we get our forklift propane tanks from same source we go to for argon. I can always put in an order for propane tanks

In the UK you'd be shot at dawn for avoiding tax, but if you can use domestic/forklift/BBW cylinders then more power to you
I'd be careful to check the propane/butane mix......

Some u haul places will fill propane for cars but here the price is only a buck and some change less a gallon then gas is.The bbq tank adapter is more a back up in case your out at the wrong time.I have thought about running propane or natural gas before even e85.Propane or natural gas i would run a dual system as a back up,E85 would take a high compression engine to get the full mileage out of.

If you really need A/C, try taking the cover off and jamming a stick down there to hold the flap open... Assuming there's a flap there. Never did that on a Jeep, but my dad's F-150 (best truck ever made) had that exact problem, and the stick allowed us to have A/C. =P
