Yea, think of me as some sort of 40-something suburban geek who is never going to off-road. I wouldn't even know where to go. They don't have that around the NYC area. So, I am just a stock XJ'er who wants a reliable winter vehicle that I can also do some simple DIY on. There is 0% chance I mod this XJ. However, I am going to spend the money to make it "nice", in a stock way.

Exactly! Good camping vehicle if need be. And I do like the looks of it. It isn't a minivan looking thing, but still got the Jeep look. It's got decent mpg too.

Go for it. You're picking one of the most reliable vehicles with an unstoppable engine. It's a good buy. And if you ever do want to go offroading you can even do so with the XJ being stock.
