Can you be more specific? D44's that are commonly swapped into XJ's? Front or rear?

As well as Chevy and Dodge trucks older Jeeps (AMC era) Isuzu and even Honda used a version. Basically all the major mfgs that built trucks or suvs used them at some point. Jeep, Ford, Chevy, Dodge and IH were the only ones to use them in the front, I think. Rears came in 10,19 and 30 spline, 1 and 2 piece shafts and with and without c-clips.

FSJ Wagoneers. They are less than an inch wider.

If im not mistaken, there is one sitting out at Normans.. Id prefer to keep it close as possible to stock width, a D44 would be a better setup then beef'n up the D30 when i 3-link it, even though im just gonna be running 35"s..

You loose a little clearance because of the larger ring gear and the fact that it's low pinion but gain strength and locking hubs. Just stay away from CAD versions.
