Once you get it back on the road id think about a snorkel if your gonna try water or mud like that again,They do make a cowl intake kit which is kinda like a snorkel but you don't see it.

I dropped one of the spark plugs down on a skid plate and can't be bothered to get it out haha.

I'll be taking the throttle body and cleaning everything up soon as well as atleast taking the valve cover off, change the oil and see if she fires.. I've got school 7-2 and work 3-7 so I only have Saturday and Sunday to work on it right now

She runs! Yes! Yes! Yes! She sounds for the most part fine. I heard a slight tick maybe coming from the 6th cylinder. Also the throttle is sticking so I'm guessing the TPS? The throttle cable doesn't stick or anything so I'm wondering.. Also the alternator seems to be working fine haha the battery stayed at 14 volts and the oil pressure (even though I don't trust the gauge) stayed at 50-60psi

Aside from a muddy wet mess of an interior, it sounds like you got lucky for the most part. I learned my lesson a long time ago about deep water and hydrolocking an engine. I avoid deep and muddy water like the plague and if it gets to bumper depth (I don't like submerging my winch) I don't run through it any further until I or someone else walks through it and only after that I go slow. I'd much rather bust my rear falling into a hole than the find it with the jeep.

Just wanted to give a little update on how she's doing.

So far it's been 2 weeks and she stills kicking. The only problem I've had so far is the horn doesn't work. Womp.. I've also got a check engine light, p0144 if I remember correctly. It has to do with it running to lean.. It goes away and comes back every now and again. Other then that I'd say she drives the same as before. I had to put an air freshener in since that carpet still stunk bad like mud..

I think she did pretty damn good. Tow truck driver, parents, neighbors and friends all thought it was totaled. Now I just laugh when I drive by them.

I'm planning on a 3in zone lift kit, 31 bf A/T, roof rack, hi lift, 4 lights up top, cowl intake/snorkel, and some crager soft 8's (I know very original)

I just want to give a huge thank you to everyone here that helped out. You guys were great and I wish I could help you out just as much

dont count your chickens yet. i've seen many a 4.0 get cleaned out well after sitting swamped run for a few weeks then develop a nasty tick and blow in short order. keep an eye on it.

Glad she is doing well. Sounds like some nice upgrades a coming. The 8's are hard to beat man, and they are cheap so if you tear one up easy to replace.

I know what you mean. There were a few little kinks that work it's way out but I just have to hope for the best.

When I popped off the spark plugs no water came out turning it over Transmission filter was clean as well as the tranny oil. Diffs only had a bit of water.

Bringing up a dead thread, but just to let OP know.. I buried mine and left it overnight 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I spun a rod bearing driving down the highway. I think they might be connected somehow.

Ouch man that's no good. You going to throw in another engine? So far it's been about two months and I've replaced the starter, battery and the radiator cap. It's pretty miraculous to be honest and I love this jeep. I just hope it keeps on kicking.

Good luck to you though

Yea I got a buddy with a motor sitting in his garage. Gonna swap them out this weekend. And ouch is right. The sound of a spun bearing makes me cringe even if its not my jeep.
I saw your avatar on a different thread and it reminded me of mine lol
