dad says cherokees tip
So I'm getting my first car soon and i really want to get a cherokee sport and my mom is all for it, but my dad believes anything he hears and his friends who "knows everything" says jeeps tip easily when driving just on the roads. Now my dad doesn't want me to get one, so what should i tell/show him to show him they don't.

tell him that hes thinking of the other jeeps (wrangler) these dont tip easy unless you try to. the wranglers tip easy and arent safe when turning fast. even though i love both of them and want to add a wrangler to my collection.

also really think about it. if jeeps were that easy to tip they wouldnt be allowed on the road for safty reasons. its not just about the car its also about the driver. like xj-92 said wranglers are easy to tip but there not gonna tip from normal driving. if you drive crazy and try to fly around corners than yeah its gonna tip but thats not only jeeps.
my first car ever was a ford focus and i flipped that. not proud of it one bit. my next car tho was a 96 cherokee my parents got me and they got me it cuz they wanted me in something safe.

ive been hit in my rear 1/4 with 4.5" of lift and 35's and it kicked me sideways on dry pavement for about 50 feet.
all 4 tires stayed planted.
that and i would regularly get nutty with that setup and purposely get sideways on the pavement
(professional driver closed course)
they are pretty light vehicles with a predictable suspension in stock form and much better off than similar suvs as far as stability goes (mainly explorers) in my opinion

anything can be rolled! I made a error once out wheeling on a hill climb. I was about 60 feet up a hill and slide sideways about 30 feet before jumping on the go pedal and turning back down the 35degree hill. the XJ did not roll. it had 4.5" of lift on 32's

Can't vouche for Cherokees stability, I did witness my one of my best friends sister get cut off and roll her wrangler. Ended up pulling her out of it. A Cherokee wouldnt have rolled in the same situation
As for the saftey of a Cherokee, click the link in my signature, I got hit head on In the driver headlight/front wheel by a v8 exploder combined impact speed of ~60-65 mph I walked away from that with 2 cuts on my face and a bump on the head, well enough to curse out the jack a$$ driver that hit me. My parents were the exact same way, only reason I got that jeep was I inherited I from my grandfather. After that, they had no problem when I went out and bought my 99
Here's a pic if the link doesnt show up ( like it's not on my phone right now -.-)

It's a MYTH! I'm calling Mythbusters.
Tell him to at least go test drive it and TRY to flip it over in a dry parking lot.

And as for the Cherokee being "tippy" It really isnt. Where I live we get alot of snow and basically every turn I take I kick the rear end out and drift. On top of that I often hit dry spots when drifting and Ive never rolled it and in fact Ive never had it up on 2 wheels either.
The only advice I can give you is to not be a dummy like some other people are and take your front sway bar off while daily driving.

he really had to try hard to get that to flip and if your driving around like that then you should expect whatever your driving to flip. not just cherokees
