Default D-Ring tabs on receiver hitch

Anyone ever weld tabs and put d-rings on either side of their factory hitch? Seems like it'd be a decent form of recovery without an aftermarket bumper.

I'd rather just get a d ring mount that slides in the receiver, than weld d ring mounts onto the hitch itself.

Man, I thought it would be a pretty neat idea for recovery. Guess no one else likes the idea enough to have done it. Haha

Lots of hitches have a warning sticker not to weld on them or drill them.
