I recently refinished my entire interior. Originally it was the standard grey for a cherokee country, with cloth seats and door panels. Got some tan leather seats from a cherokee limited, reupholstered the doors, replaced the carpet, reupholstered the headliner, reupholstered the steering wheel, and painted EVERY single interior trim piece with Krylon followed by a finish coat of vinyl coating and satin clear. You cannot scratch this stuff off. I was debating selling my jeep and buying a land rover discovery because I love their interiors, but I love too much about my cherokee. Just needed a little update inside. Also, with everything out I put dynamat (not the name brand though) all over the floor pan, and used around 70 sq ft of fiberglass insulation in every nook and cranny I could. It's silent inside now, and feels really solid, a whole different vehicle to drive. Hope you like it, pictures are attached

The seats were the most expensive, around $750 shipped to my door. The rest wasn't really all that bad though. Carpet material ~$80 (ebay), headliner material and upholstery vinyl for doors ~$70 (local fabric store), paint/spray adhesive ~$90 (auto parts store). Insulation ~100 (ebay, Lowe's). All in all it was right around $1100. It was quite a pain though, those upholstered panels on the doors are NOT meant to come off, they are plastic riveted on (not pop pins or screws). And fitting the carpet material took a lot of time. If you just got pre-molded carpet though it would be a breeze. I was just trying to save $. I'll post some more pictures of everything in the daylight.

Wow ... and I thought I was ****. That's a beautiful interior, looks brand new ... very, very nice work! I've considered painting more than my dash & trim, but I know it'll be a pain. And I think I'm ADHD ... I'd lose interest long before it was done. But for results like that ... worth every minute.

The interior reminds me a lot of a chrysler 300c my mom had a few years back lol..

As for the dash if it's the first gen XJ, it's not even worth it. I've been debating on replacing my interior and swapping to the 97+ style just because of how cheap the older interior is.
I have ADHD and it sucks! Aderall actually makes me work on XJ all night haha. It's good because I've gotten done more in 2 months, than most have done in 2 years LOL

Gee, let's see ...I have painted the dash 3 times (a different color each time. Most recently, tan); ZJ shifter; switches for lites & locker, Tuffy center console storage, Wet Okole, stereo, white face gauges, Husky mats, headliner w/ built-in sound bar (not stock on my XJ), contrasting visors to match seat covers, 2 amps, A-pillar tweeters, 8 other speakers, cubby hole sub, and most recently a bad-*** ABS plastic storage unit that fills up the entire floor. Pics as soon as I can get to the XJ.
Updated pics as outlined above: there is no longer anything OD green inside my XJ. Note: When I ordered the Wet Okole seat covers I accidentally ordered the color you see (wine) instead of what I really wanted (more like burgundy). Oh well, what can I say ... things look different on the computer than in person. At $200+ I'm stuck with them. So I did the overhead console & visors to match the seats. More pics (older) on page 1 of this thread.

Beige dash ...

ZJ shifter, my clock, cup holder & switches:

The awesome locking ABS plastic box I scored off Craig's List. Fills up the entire trunk. Unfortunately it's a bit too deep. Debating moving it to the Durango & building a box for the XJ.

Sorry for the huge pics. I guess I didn't resize them enough.

Agreed, I love your interior. It makes me want to do something like it.
I want my interior to be something like this
-97+ Dash and Center counsole
-97+ front door swap (existing doors are dented and I'm getting the XJ painted anyway).
-97+ rear door panels
-Leather seats out of another cherokee or grand cherokee
-Steering Column/Steering Wheel like what the 2011 Jeeps have (I get a Mopar parts discount!)
-Seat heater inserts
-Tan suede headliner
-Black Carpet
-Overhead counsole from a ZJ or XJ
-Information center from a ZJ
-Dynamat sound deadening on floor, roof, and doors, ESPECIALLY the cargo area because of my subs lol

Basically it's a wish list, but I'll probably have most of it in there by the time summer comes.

Man I just spent the better part of the day replacing my tore up (!!) leather drivers with a seat from an '01 grand, lemme tell ya it wasn't fun, lots of fab and cutting. It doesn't look near that nice (jy seats 200.00) but I'll post pics when I'm done anyway. Very nice work, I am envious.
