Default Corrosion Control Device

Hey everyone! The name's Trav. This thread isn't a help/tech thread but I was wondering. Has anyone ever seen a "Corrosion Control Device" made b Autosaver Systems Inc.? I just recently found it mounted to the side of the distribution box in the engine compartment, a small squarish piece of plastic with status lights on it. I've never even heard of corrosion control before! Maybe a faulty "CCD" is why all our XJs are rust buckets! haha

I've seen em for tackle boxes, gun cases and the inside walls of dams but never for cars. Itd make sense to have one though

I've seen one on Trucks(power block on spike). Looks very easy to instal and heard they had good reviews. Can you take a pic of it?

Red face

it does make sense, but only if it works right i suppose. The wires from the box attached to the + - terminals on the battery at one point and then one must have rusted off. Maybe thats why it rusted out on me so fast idk.

yes that is true but a jeep doesn't go from being in mint condition (always garaged and bathed regularly) with absolutely no rust on it at all, anywhere. To a rotted out corpse of what once was in just 3 months...

That's good to know. When I first saw it a few years back I kinda looked into it for a while(5 minutes max)lol. From what I gathered then it was a pretty good product.

It probably works great if the wires aren't bare and exposed and hooked up right. All the wires to it were cracked and only the positive was connected with no ground, so im thinking it did the reverse of what it was supposed to. I just took the dang thing out just to be safe haha.

Has this happened to you? My southern jeep handled a MI winter rather well without washing it or any other care.

I just dont buy it for automobiles. The technology works great when the ground is not the object itself. The whole point of it is to give an object a charge so oxidation isnt readily available to happen. How do you give a vehicle an overall charge when this is ground to its own power source. Sounds like it works as well as a TB spacer. lol
