maybe just try some new replacement bulbs, to hold you over b4 you make a decision.. I can see very well with my stock headlights with upgraded sylvania bulbs!!!

I have Silverstars and while its an improvement, its not the same as a halogen/HIDs. A lot of people will upgrade their stock wiring harness and get the H4 halogen conversions kit.

From what I understand the H4 HID is to small to fit into H4 housing, so a lot of people get the H7 kits and adapter that plugs into the stock headlight wiring. Your looking at around $300 for the whole kit (H7 kit/projector housing) from NorCal2.

Yea it's expensive but if you have ever drove with HIDs you will never want to go back. It's amazing how much better you can see.

I think if you do a comparison between sealed beams and the HIDs it would be worth the $300 for some people.

HIDs don't have to be expensive, I've run cheapo ones from ebay for years. It's the actual headlights that cost because you need to replace the sealed beam units with projectors to do it right.

This is true. The housings cost the most. You can pickup HIDs for less than $100. However, it is difficult for the XJs because you need to buy the adapter that plugs in to the stock wiring since the H4 HID bulb is to big to fit into the housings. Most people go with the H7 kit.

i would recomment buying the aftermarket head lights housings with the h4 bulb i bought the housing off ebay for around 150 bucks (can) then i went to a local performace store and bought HID's about 120 bucks (can)! the install was really easy comes with integrated high beam, also includes relay, and fuse! you can see everything @ night! just i recommned aiming your head light, and diconnecting the connector for the drl module and they will work fine!

I have have both sets ebay and norcalmr2. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/rea...r2-com-105291/ Nothing beats norcalmr2 eBay are nice for the money to run HID with H4 but they scatter and there plastic constantly turning yellow. For adapters all HIDs give you a plug and play plugs into H4 stock harness , battery, bulbs then ballast. Norcalm2 harness is a little different then a standerd harness. The hardest part of hooking up HIDS is pushing the wires through the drivers side next to the battery. Need small hands.

So all HIDs will come with the plug that plugs into the H4 stock harness?

Thanks!
