edit: go check out tomwoods driveshaft . com or whatever the URL is and click on the xj SYE and it shows you how to measure for it and everything

First make sure you have a 231 t case. They don't make an SYE kit for the 242, just a hack and tap. I ordered the AA SYE kit off Amazon.
This is a good deal..
As far as driveline, you can get a stock front out of another XJ and run it in the rear once you have the SYE kit.
Any more questions let me know.

Hack n Tap for the win.
I have yet to hear complaints of one failing, and if you nuke a tcase or ever swap tcases you can reuse your HnT. You may not have that option with other SYEs.

Easiest option: get the IRO SYE HnT. $200 and you get all you need along with a refurb driveshaft. Call them and give them specs on your Jeep and they will tell you if it will work for you. I baught it, installed it myself and it works great.

I say go with rough country because of their warranty. If it breaks they should replace it without fuss. As far as I can tell they all look the same anyways.

I just fixed a rough country one in my 92. There is an Excellent video on youtube for the 231 done by Advanced adapters. I really suggest that you watch it. It gives a couple of really useful tips

Thanks for all the Valuable information. I have to put the SYE on the back burner because the track bar I just got from rock krawler doesn't fit. I was told from the previous owner it had a 4.5 inch lift but the bar doesnt fit. So I either have to buy new springs or something else is wrong. PO
