The seats in my '95 XJ 2 dr. were pretty much shot so I replaced them with a set out of a '03 Hyundai Tiburon. Regarding the OP's question about the back seat, I never have rear seat passengers so I just took it out.

I made the above seat swap on my '03 TJ about a year ago and it turned out great! They are VERY comfortable. I picked up a pair from a junk yard for $200 which was the going price. I was happy with that as it would have cost at least that much for a pair of good covers. Reupholstering them would have been more for sure.
