Buddy at work has a 89 4 door 4WD with 4.0 he is looking to get rid of for $200 or so. Missing front clip (was pulled for another jeep of his). Runs and drives but needs a water pump. I don't need another jeep. Don't need many parts. BUT, I have the space and time to part it out. How hard will it be to make some money off it?

I dragged it home today for $150. First, it has the 242 TC. I assume the AW4 is the same as used on the 231 TC? What is the value of a 242? I know they are a little more rare than the 231, does that mean they sell for more? Unfortunately it has the D35 rear, had my fingers crossed it would be a D44. The front axle is a non-disco D30, so that will have some use down the road. Has a full gauge cluster (tach w/ gauges) showing 242k miles. It's a Laredo, so it is power everything. Every switch hole has a switch in it. Interior is fairly ragged out. Body has a bit of rust in it. All original, unmodified. Any special items to look out for that have value/interest? Anyone need something?

 

Any chance that thing came with the cargo bay cover? If the cover is gone are the brackets for the cover still in there?

 

No it didn't. I do have the gray vinyl spare tire cover.
