Bronco Axle
#16
I'm all for larger axles but running 33s just isn't worth the time for fab. You can have a reliable d30 and carry loads of spare parts just in case. if you got cromo axles you prob never break a shaft unless you just go crazy.
Say he does use a d44 on 33 at least keep it full width and get reqlly backspaced wheels so if he does want to go with like 37s he doesn't have a super narrow rig

If he has the axles, its worth it IMO. I like the D44 way better then the D30 even with 31's, I am not a fan of the D30 (my OPINION)
depending on year of the bronco it could have the weak 28 spline 9" that is practicly equal to the 29 spline 8.25... but can be upgraded far past other axles.
it really comes down to money/use/wants... I say go for it
and narrow track/full width is another opinion. I don't care much for fullwidth, but mine is street driven and fine for me, it will be on 37's when I get new tires, lift high has more to do with being top heavy then tire size IMO.
the TNT truss is a good option, not talking you out of it. I pieced together brackets for a lot cheaper then the truss/brackets. all in my build thread from my waggy swap for another option.

Dana 44 for 33s? I call that over kill. And the Dana 30 is more than up to the task of that tire size. I wouldn't even consider a 44 front unless I was going 35s and up... Shoot I'm running 39.5
On a bronco 44 and with my light foot I don't break anything.
I just don't see the point to upgrade. All you'll gain is a axle that is stronger and isn't needed..and you gain the width which with 33s will look goofy
