IMO depends on what your doing I'll have 17's on my Cherokee I like to keep the tire/wheel ratio looking good.

Tow rigs look sweet with big wheels

Unless you own a JK/JKU in witch 17's are practical from stock to 40's the rest of the true jeep line up shouldn't touch a 17 until it's ready for 40's or bigger. There has been a big issue lately on WF with JKU owners comming in and asking about running from a 20 whitch is trully pushing it to a guy who wants to run 30's also had a guy ask about 22's and 26's. And all of this in the last 2 months.. The guy who got the 20's didn't get flamed, the guy who was thinking about 22's got talked down to 17x9's.. and the 26 and 30in rim guys got flamed hard and are still doing so as of a few days ago..
I mean it's your jeep do what ya want but dont expect to be liked for turning your beautiful Jeep into a rolling disgrace to the jeep name.. Really simple, you want to run your chrome and dubs.. Buy A HUMMER.. A jeep is not for you..
Everytime I see a ZJ, XJ, YJ, TJ, LJ, JK, JKU with ridiculous rims and disgusting mods that represent what a Jeep is not.. First I double face paml and shake my head.. Then it gets posted to a forum asap, Hoping that someone will save the poor jeep by fixing it up and giving it a good home..

i can see 18in wheels on a 1967 SS chevelle but i hate when a 4x4 in random has 20in wheels. and 22in tires or something. I would understand a 17in wheel if your running 35s. but 17in wheel and 20in tire dont go together....

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks is dumb to run dubs or mini dubs(18") or even bigger. They must have fell frontage dumba$$ tree and hit every branch on the way down.

I can understand bigger wheels like 17-20's on like a nice pickup thats daily driven and thats too clean to really trash off road. But it has to have a set of mud terrrains on it if its a 4x4, or i agree its stupid...now a trail rig or something that gets off-roaded a lot, then i say smaller plain wheels with bigger tires.

Something like this...to clean and expensive to beat up...but looks good with the wheels and yet has m/t's so it can hold its own off road.
