Default Best Wiper Blades

As the rainy season approaches Im looking for some quality wipers. The bosch units I installed last season didnt last a single winter. Anyone try the piaa or rain x silicone blades? does their quality justify the cost? Any other recommendations?

I just took off the rain-x blades I put on last year, they were in awful shape. Not worth the extra cost IMHO. Get the cheapest ones you can find and just replace them every year. Replaced with some goodyear cheapos for about $14.

I've been using the Auto Zone brand flex blades. Same as the RainX or Bosh just half the price. Work great for mud, rain & snow. At least me that is. I've heard it's recommended to change em every other oil change, but can't verify that to be fact.

I like Bosch Evolution at half the price of Rain X.

Don't waste money on the high-buck wiper blades - they're a joke.

- If you live in a normal climate, change them annually (preferably just before the big rainy season hits.)
- If you're in a semi-arid climate (most of Northern California, for instance,) change every six months.
- If you're in a relatively arid climate, change every three or four months (or change just before the rainy season, and then again after.)

I simplify things - I get my wiper blades in bulk (usually Anco) and get six pair for what one "sooper-dooper" pair goes for - and get more time out of my money.

As far as glass treatments go - I've used Rain-X, I now use it on my paintball goggs and shop face shield. You want to have windows that repel water? Put a good coat of hard paste wax on the window and buff out, just before the rains hit. After they've mostly worn themselves out, wash the windows with vinegar to break the was layer loose, and rewax.

I have been having pretty good luck with Trico Flex wiper blades on my XJ I replace all 3 once a year and they hold up to the snowy winters and dry desert in the summer

I use Rain X on all 6 of my vehicles....but the Town Car, Grand Cherokee, Ford Custom High Top Conversion Van and the 1 ton Ford 4x4 Crew Cab are all stored inside. The Motor Home and Cherokee are outside the RV's are changed 2 times a year and I guess the Cherokee might be at least once.
