Default Best options for XJ phone mount

(I did see a few older threads (found from a Google search), but none of those options were particularly appealing)

What is everyone using to hold their phones in their XJs? So far I've tried a vent mount and a rear view mirror mount, but I'm not happy with either option.

The "Pro Clip" brand offers a base that mounts up near the vents. They also have one that mounts near the shifter. You then build out from there.

Panavise has a mount that sits to the right of the factory radio that looks promising, but if I upgrade the radio in the future I don't know if it will be compatible...

One YouTube video showed mounting a ball mount on the side of the radio surround, not sure that I really want to drill holes though...

Any photos that folks would be willing to share would be appreciated!

Thank you Jim. You’ve reminded me that I forgot one of the most important pieces of information in my request, I have a 2000 Cherokee Sport so unfortunately these options won’t work.

I got this one from my brother a couple years ago, but can’t find it online anywhere now. I like where it sits and no drilling, just 3M tape. Sorry I don’t have a link, but maybe this will give you some ideas.

I got one that mounts in the cd player of the factory stereo. Literally the perfect location. I don’t use the cd or cassette player obviously. If I do listen to something it’s from my phone via an isimple device plugged in to the factory antenna.

I got one of the ones that grab the phone and also wirelessly charge it, comes with a suction cup mount. Has worked pretty well so far.
